Job Specifics
• The OSF HealthCare system seeks an Acute Care Surgeon for its Flagship Tertiary Care hospital in Peoria. Surgical Subspecialists include excellent neuro and orthopedic surgeons, cardiovascular surgeons, advanced foregut, and transplant surgeons, amongst others.
• Physicians must be board-certified or eligible in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. ATLS certification is required, and ASSET certification is preferred.
• Successful Academic appointment at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria is required. Teaching medical students, surgical residents, surgical fellows, and other learners is an essential part of the position.
• The only Level 1 center with a large catchment area with severe injury and with an acute care surgery volume and complexity in the top decile allows excellent clinical skills development with experienced colleagues. The collegial culture allows rapid learning and professional growth.
