Job Description

NYU Shanghai is currently inviting applications for an Assistant, Associate, or Full professor in Psychology. The candidate would join an active group of psychologists and build on our current strengths in psychotherapy and digital mental health, gender and sexuality, child development, and legal psychology. The candidate would be expected to develop innovative and exciting collaborations with faculty across the social sciences (e.g, global public health) and natural and computational sciences (particularly neuroscience, AI and big data). Candidates should be comfortable conducting research in interdisciplinary teams with scholars from diverse and complementary backgrounds.

Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions with respect to research start-up funds and compensation, and they include housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children. Faculty may in certain cases have the opportunity to spend time at NYU New York and other sites of the NYU Global Network, engaging in both research and teaching.

We invite applications in all fields of psychology and encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply. This position is part of a four-line cluster search on the climate-health nexus, broadly construed; the other three positions are in global public health, medical anthropology, and environmental studies. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to join a vibrant research community housed in the NYU Shanghai Social Sciences Area and its research centers .

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research, statement of teaching interests, and at least one writing sample via Interfolio.  Additionally, those applying at the rank of assistant or associate professor (without tenure) should enter the names and email addresses of at least three referees. Each referee will be contacted to upload a reference letter through Interfolio.

Applications may be received until November 4, 2024 . If you have any questions, please email the NYU Shanghai NY Office of Faculty Recruitment shanghai.faculty.recruitment@nyu.edu .
