We are currently accepting applications for an Tax Accountant to assist with corporates taxes for all entities. This is a full-time, on-site position in our North Versailles office. Job description We are currently accepting applications for a Corporate Tax Accountant. The preferred candidate must be detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. The Tax Accountant is responsible for all federal, state, and local tax filings and compliance primarily pertaining to payroll. Additional filings include sales and other non-income taxes. Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting with the planning, research, and other tax-related initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Oversee the preparation of multi state payroll and sales & use tax filings for a multi-entity, multi-state organization.
- Reconcile all taxes to GL (payroll, sales, real estate and others)
- Work with a third-party vendor to prepare personal property tax returns
- Register for tax accounts in various states for new operations.
- Ensure non-income tax filings are completed timely
- Prepare and submit state and local sales tax returns
- Work with IT to make sure POS systems are charging appropriate sales taxes.
- Manage and review that all payroll tax returns are filed by ADP.
- Work with tax accountants to make sure owners income tax returns are filed properly
- Prepare and complete non-income tax returns (unclaimed property, property tax, business licenses, etc.)
- Reconcile tax liabilities
- Ensure tax payments are made timely.
- Conducting federal, state and local tax research.
- Other related duties & projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's degree in accounting or comparable experience preferred.
- At least 2 years' payroll tax experience. Sales & property tax experience is a plus.
- Public accounting experience in a corporate environment preferred.
- Experience with tax accounting in a retail setting preferred.
- Understanding of sales and use tax preferred.
- Multijurisdictional tax experience (preferred)
- Need to be proactive and attentive to detail so items are resolved promptly
- Ability to think analytically and manage multiple priorities.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft office applications.
- Strong working knowledge of various accounting software applications.
- Strong analytical reporting experience.
