Position Summary:
The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District is seeking a visionary school leader dedicated to equity who promotes the empowerment of each and every student through the collaborative development of a vision for learning that is shared and supported by the school community. The high school principal leads a large team of leaders and staff members; Middleton High School serves approximately 2300 students.

Qualifications:
Minimum requirement of a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration or Leadership
Wisconsin Principal license (51) required; Director of Instruction (10) or Director of Pupil Services (80) License preferred
Five years of successful administrative experience required (preference given for experience in schools that are racially, linquistically, & socioeconomically diverse)
Three years of administrator practitioner experience preferred at the secondary level
Leadership experience across content areas of curriculum, instruction, and student services
Experience and training in equity and racial justice

Collaboratively lead the implementation of the 9-12 vision for learning
Embrace change and innovation; ability to envision and actualize learning beyond the traditional walls of the classroom (and grade levels) and school
Monitor, assess, and inspire teaching practices that ensure both rigor and best practice are occurring in all classrooms
Collaboratively lead and implement ongoing professional development for staff
Analyze and share student data and educational research as the foundational principles of professional collaboration and program development
Bring an equity lens to the work in the school, across programs, and on the leadership team, and create space for conversations about equity
Understand the school’s responsibility to prepare students for their futures in this rapidly changing global society
Analyze relevant information, make decisions, delegate responsibility, and provide appropriate support and follow-up for building staff

Human Resources Leadership
Provide ongoing supervision for school personnel, including the high school leadership team
Recruit and hire qualified staff members who bring diverse experiences and a commitment to equity to the school community
Design and maintain specific support structures to retain diverse staff members
Communication
Commit to high visibility and daily communication with stakeholders using multiple forms of communication
Meet regularly with students, staff, and families to construct and evaluate systems that meet the needs of all learners
Operations Management
Administer, manage, and supervise the operations of the school in compliance under the direction of the Superintendent and in alignment with the policies of the Board of Education
Maintain a pulse on relevant legislative policy and educational reform initiatives
Serve as a champion of and liaison for building design and capital improvement projects
Attend to the physical and psychological safety of students and staff, and ensure that district safety and security plan and procedures are implemented
