The Radiation Therapy Program at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE ) ranked faculty position on a 9-over 12-month professional practice contract. This faculty member will also hold the role of Program Director for Radiation Therapy. This faculty member will teach the equivalent of six courses (24 credits) a year. The Radiation Therapy program is a bachelor’s degree within the College for Adults (CfA). St. Kate’s can enroll up to 14 students in each year-long cohort. The program is offered entirely online, and there is one other full-time faculty member who also serves as the clinical coordinator.


Students in the program currently complete their required clinical experiences at hospitals and clinics within the Twin Cities. Across the institution, there is an effort to explore growth opportunities. Applicants who can embrace this mindset and help to identify opportunities to leverage the online nature of this program and bring the degree to students outside of the Twin Cities are encouraged to apply.


The Radiation Therapy program at St. Kate’s has a long-standing tradition of excellence. Students progress through the program, pass their certification exam on their first attempt, and secure jobs at rates routinely above 90%. The program is accredited through the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), and its next scheduled accreditation review is in 2029.


The program is part of the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health Sciences (HSSHS). With 18 degree programs and approximately 100 faculty, the HSSHS is the largest of St. Kate’s four schools. Degrees are offered to students at all levels, from the associate to the doctoral level. A key distinguishing factor is the programs’ shared focus on ecological approaches to health, intercultural competency, and interprofessional collaboration. Faculty and staff will find ample opportunities for support for teaching, professional practice, and scholarly activities. The Institute of Simulation and Interprofessional Learning (I-SAIL) provides resources and expertise to support developing and implementing high-impact educational activities within HSSHS and the School of Nursing. The St. Kate’s Teaching Hub offers resources and a platform for teaching and scholarly activities that foster pedagogical innovation and student success. The Hub supports faculty and staff by providing professional development opportunities and a forum for learning and exchange on issues at the forefront of higher education. Additionally, St. Kate’s has a growing academic technology team that offers training and support to faculty members who teach online.


Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the Program Director for the Radiation Therapy Program
  • Teaching undergraduate radiation therapy courses
  • Advising students
  • Partnering with admissions to recruit and admit students
  • Engaging in activities that help to bring a professional orientation to the curriculum
  • Engaging in service to the program, the school, the university, and external organizations


Salary Range:

Assistant Professor: $65,000 – $70,000
Associate Professor: $71,000 – $77,000

The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
    • Individuals with considerable experience can apply. Their ability to secure the position requires a commitment to complete a master’s degree. For well-qualified applicants, St. Kate’s can offer tuition remission within one of several graduate programs

Proficiency in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, accreditation requirements, and academic advising 3 years of clinical experience in the professional discipline 2 years experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiation therapy



Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in teaching online
  • Previous experience as a program director or clinical coordinator
  • Experience launching or growing a Radiation Therapy program
