Pay Rate-$60.00/hr on W2
Description:
Seeking a human factors engineer who is excited to apply their knowledge of UXD and HF to the design and testing of new cell analysis and prep systems.
Typical degrees are: Engineering, Human Factors Engineering / Ergonomics, Usability Engineering, Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, Industrial Design, Engineering Psychology
Need 5 years industry experience and BS, or a combo of higher level degree and experience.
3 must haves:
o Experience with regulated products (e.g. FDA, IEC 62366
o Experience with products that have software and hardware components (not just software products)
o Experience with writing human factors plans, reports
Play a critical role in product development by using customer insights to inspire teams to deliver experiences that solve customer problems. Interface with customers to gather critical data that guide your design recommendations. Apply your user experience design (UXD) and human factors (HF) background and creative problem solving to lead new UXD/HF efforts within project teams. Leverage other business units community of UXD practice to align processes. Guide HF vendors and/or contractors in prioritized work for usability testing, user research, or industrial design. This role will be working with primarily in-vitro diagnostic flow cytometer analyzers and/or preppers.
Primary duties include:
Lead the definition, design, and execution of UXD/HF activities throughout product development
Work with stakeholders to update UXD/HF processes for BDBs products
Represent and advocate for UXD on complex programs by elevating customers needs
Teach HF processes and understanding of our customers to cross-functional project teams, senior leaders, and junior HFE associates
Collaborate to find the best possible product for our customers by finding the sweet spot between customers needs, business constraints, and technical capabilities
Communicate passion and empathy for the customer in a way that is contagious and inspires teams
Plan and execute use error analyses, usability testing, and other required regulatory HF/UE work
Common tools used: task analyses, workflow diagrams, wireframes, user error analyses, usability tests, contextual research, sketches, card sorts, feature tradeoffs
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Human Factors Engineering / Ergonomics, Usability Engineering, Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, Industrial Design, Engineering Psychology or equivalent degree
5 years industry experience analyzing user needs via contextual research, usability testing, and other methods and translating those needs into design decisions (or combination of advanced degree and work experience)
1 years experience guiding and prioritizing human factors activities on complex systems
Experience with medical devices and regulated environments in design and development (FDA, IEC 62366, AAMI HE75)
Experience mentoring cross-functional teams on HF methods and design thinking
Proven ability to influence without authority and persuade internal colleagues of the benefits of UXD
Excellent collaboration, communication, leadership, influencing, and presentation skills
Highly organized and able to work efficiently across simultaneous projects
Able to understand business goals and link them to design directions in short-term solutions that support long-term product visions and business strategies
Desired Qualifications
MS or Ph.D. strongly preferred with equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience working in an Agile Product development environment
Experience working with data analytics and infographics
