Overview Analyst/Associate, Commercial Finance and Strategy Role: Nikola is seeking high caliber candidates to join its Commercial Finance and Strategy team. The firm is looking for both entry-level and experienced hires to join at the analyst or associate level, depending on experience. Nikola is based in Phoenix, AZ.
About Nikola: Nikola Corporation (NASDAQ: NKLA) is a clean energy transportation company focused on providing battery- and hydrogen fuel cell-powered commercial transportation solutions. Nikola through its “HYLA” brand, is also developing a hydrogen refueling ecosystem.
About the team: Nikola’s Commercial Finance and Strategy team is led by investment banking, capital markets, and investor relations professionals who have a proven track record of professional excellence and execution. This is an opportunity to join a team at the ground floor as Nikola works to build build its commercial and sales strategy, sellign the first proiduction hydrogen fuel cell trucks in North America and working closely with the Energy team to deploy hydrogen refueling infrastruture. The Commercial Finance and Strategy team reports directly to the CFO of the company, and will play a pivotal role in developing strategy, evaluating investment/partnership opportunities, ensuring operational execution, and supporting any other finance related ad-hoc projects.
This team is high-achieving and dynamic. The organizational structure is flat, giving junior employees the opportunity to interface with key executives, various department heads, customers, and other key company leaders.
Responsibilities - Support development of Commercial and Sales strategy including ad-hoc business case / strategic analysis, financial modeling, data management, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support development / implementation of operational processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness throughout the energy organization.
- Assist with preparation of strategic presentation materials for the board of directors, senior leadership, and other external parties
- Supporting due diligence with financial institutions and investment banks on capital raise and capital structuring
- Other responsibilities include but are not limited to data room management, targeting, and financial modelling
Qualifications Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field
- Proven academic and professional achievement
- Internship or full-time experience at Big Four accounting firm, investment bank, private equity firm, M&A advisory firm, or other relevant experience involving financial analysis
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint Skills, and Financial modelling skills
- Excellent communication skills
Start Date: Immediate
Compensation: Nikola offers a competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, and a full benefits package. Actual salary will depend on candidate profile and experience.
